Easy to Make Wax Melts

Wax Melts make a great Christmas or birthday gift & they are also nice to melt in your own home! They are really easy to make!

What you will need:

plastic clam shells

soy wax

fragrance (candle fragrance)

a double broiler or a glass measuring cup and a small pan to create a double broiler.

a digital kitchen scale

Boil water. Measure 1 cup of soy wax & bring it to a boil in your double broiler.

I am using Natures Garden Fruity Rings scent for this batch. It smells like Fruit Loops cereal. It’s one of our favorite scents!

One tip for this recipe: if you use a scent with vanilla notes in it & don’t use a vanilla stabilizer, it can turn brown after a period of time. It’s not spoiled, it will just simply discolor.

Once all the soy wax is melted take it off the stove top. Tare your scale and add 1 ounce of fragrance for small spaces, or 2 ounces of fragrances for large spaces. (One ounce is nice for a small apartment but if you are wanting a bigger scent throw for a large house, use 2 ounces of fragrance.) Stir well to mix and pour into your clam shells.

This should fill 3.5 standard sized clam shells. Let cool, attach a label and close the clamshell.

Note: You might want to lay an old towel down or newspaper. If you spill any wax or fragrance, it won’t discolor your table or be difficult to clean up!
