About me

Glad you are here!

Hi! How are you? (Answer honestly!) I’m Amy, 47, happily married, & have a lot of hobbies, but cooking and baking has become my favorite. I hope to bring you recipes you & your family will enjoy!

I think it’s important to note, most food bloggers have some food waste. We do not waste meals or food. Anything I cook and we cannot use, we feed the homeless or elderly neighbors, but we don’t waste it.

Getting personal quickly, I have bipolar 1, very well-managed today. I believe in ending the stigma, and in helping others. It wasn’t that long ago, I was misdiagnosed (until age 45 for major depression) and found my life spinning wildly out of control & my social behaviors were atrocious. After a prolonged manic state, I was finally properly diagnosed and well treated, professionally. I have been in recovery since. Cooking and baking have helped me tremendously in my recovery, along with meds & therapy. If you find yourself walking a similar path, just know I don’t have great advice, but I can be here to sit with you until things get better! We do recover & grow. Bipolar 1 can be properly managed.

We love animals, we have several. Maybe one day I’ll share photos on a blog post. We have a bearded dragon, tortoises, a chinchilla, and our beloved pug. They are all spoiled!

We are fortunate enough to live in Texas, near the shore right now. We spend a lot of time there! My husband is serving in the military, so we move quite a bit. Moving can be stressful, but we really enjoy exploring each new area!

I have a deep appreciation for the small things in life- time spend with my hubby, walks in nature, sunrises & sunsets, wild animals, feeding & watching the birds, & things like that.

For everyone who finds their way to my corner of the web, thank you for being here. I appreciate you!
